Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Home Health

Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Specialty: Home Health Therapy/Rehabilitation
• Average Patients per Day: 5-7 (to be confirmed during interview)
• Case Types: Geriatric
• On-Call: No
• Territory: Up to a 60-mile radius from the office/hub
• Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
• Device Provided: iPad
• Cell Phone Use: Not allowed
• Mileage Reimbursed at IRS standard rate
• Flexibility with territory expected
• Timely documentation and communication required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent experience as a PTA in Home Health
• Must have current PTA license in hand
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Locals accepted at travel rate

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background checks within 90 days of start, including but not limited to:

  • SSN Trace
  • County searches (last 7 years)
  • Sex Offender Registry
  • Motor Vehicle Records
  • Education Verification
  • Work History Verification (7 years)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
• Fingerprinting required for candidates who have not lived in Washington for the past 3 years (completed on-site)
• State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable
• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit mask test (N95 accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific rules for positive TB history)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations/vaccinations or documented declinations required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu (vaccine or facility-specific declination)
  • COVID-19 (vaccine or facility-specific declination)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Additional Requirements

• Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual (updated annually)
• Proof of current auto insurance required (due to driving responsibilities)
• Completion of Acceptable Use Policy prior to start
• Two professional references within 2 years of start (travel/allied/per diem acute care)
• Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps in application

Notes

• Prior travel experience is required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Productivity requirement: 30 points weekly (to be discussed during interview)

This position is ideal for experienced PTAs with home health expertise who are flexible with travel within the specified territory and meet all licensing and compliance requirements.
