Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Home Health
Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Home Health Therapy/Rehabilitation
- Average Patients per Day: 5-7 (to be confirmed during interview)
- Case Types: Geriatric
- On-Call: No
- Territory: Up to a 60-mile radius from the office/hub
- Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
- Device Provided: iPad
- Cell Phone Use: Not allowed
- Mileage Reimbursed at IRS standard rate
- Flexibility with territory expected
- Timely documentation and communication required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year recent experience as a PTA in Home Health
- Must have current PTA license in hand
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Locals accepted at travel rate
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks within 90 days of start, including but not limited to:
- SSN Trace
- County searches (last 7 years)
- Sex Offender Registry
- Motor Vehicle Records
- Education Verification
- Work History Verification (7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
- Fingerprinting required for candidates who have not lived in Washington for the past 3 years (completed on-site)
- State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit mask test (N95 accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific rules for positive TB history)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations/vaccinations or documented declinations required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu (vaccine or facility-specific declination)
- COVID-19 (vaccine or facility-specific declination)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
Additional Requirements
- Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual (updated annually)
- Proof of current auto insurance required (due to driving responsibilities)
- Completion of Acceptable Use Policy prior to start
- Two professional references within 2 years of start (travel/allied/per diem acute care)
- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps in application
Notes
- Prior travel experience is required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Productivity requirement: 30 points weekly (to be discussed during interview)
