Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have recent required experience in Interventional Radiology.
  • Bi-weekly orientation provided.
  • On-call requirement: 1 night per week (5:30 PM - 7:00 AM) and 1 weekend every 4 weeks (Friday 5:30 PM - Monday 7:00 AM).
  • Floating to other hospital departments within skill set may be required if census is low.
  • No time off allowed during specified holidays; holiday time off requests may be addressed onsite after arrival.

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted, must be current and uploaded (no screenshots/photos).
  • ARRT (R) certification with advanced certification in one of the following:
    • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
    • Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
    • Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP).

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ARRT (R) certification.
  • Advanced certification in one of the following: Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), or Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI).
  • Neuro/Stroke experience.
  • Experience with PACS.
  • Experience with contrast administration.
  • Experience with biopsies.

License Requirements

  • Must hold a valid state license appropriate for Interventional Radiology practice in Tennessee.
  • License must be current and verifiable within 30 days of start date.
  • Background checks and verifications must meet facility standards.

Additional Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the past year.
  • Drug testing within 45 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 12 months confirming fitness for duty.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu (for 2025-26 season), and others as required.
  • Competency exams and skills checklists must be current and completed as per facility policy.
  • Color blindness test within 12 months.
  • References: 2 supervisory references from the past 3 years.
  • Employment application with 7-year work history and no unexplained gaps over 30 days.

Work Environment

  • Travel assignment with floating responsibilities.
  • On-call and weekend coverage required.
  • Strict holiday time off policy.
