Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Night shift position for Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Responsibilities include:

  • Maternal obstetric care
  • Well newborn care
  • Respiratory support and resuscitation
  • Attending high-risk and premature deliveries
  • Postpartum/couplet care
  • Labor and delivery nursing
  • Antepartum triage nursing
  • OR circulator for Cesarean sections
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
• 50-mile radius restriction for candidates
• No felony background or licensure actions accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • CST or NBSTSA certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Criminal background check within 6 months (or 30 days for new candidates)
• Various background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification
• Completion of facility-specific Relias training modules (~81 modules) prior to orientation
• Badge photo meeting facility standards
• Employee health documentation including:

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Immunizations or titers for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Drug testing (10 panel) within 6 months or 30 days depending on hire date
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination
  • COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Performance evaluations if previously employed through any agency
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Notes

• Facility does not accept candidates with felony convictions or licensure actions
• Candidates must be able to complete required training and documentation prior to start
• Orientation may include up to 8 hours of training time
