Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Monroe, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Labor & Delivery RN
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, nights; every third weekend
• Unit: 12-bed Level 1 LDRP unit with Level 1 nursery
• Staffing Guidelines: AWHONN intermediate or advanced preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Skills include:

  • Labor & Delivery, LDRP care
  • Level 1 Nursery care, low risk mother/baby care
  • Antepartum care and procedures
  • Non-Stress Test (NST), Reflex checks
  • External fetal heart monitoring, cardiac monitoring, emergency care
  • IV therapy/phlebotomy, medication administration
  • APGAR scoring, pain management, postpartum care, triage

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN intermediate or advanced preferred
• Epic experience required
• ACLS, PALS may be required depending on unit

Additional Requirements

• Travelers must shave for mask fit testing (no PAPRs or CAPRs allowed)
• Fit testing will be done onsite during orientation
• Scrubs provided

Compliance and Documentation

• Criminal background check within 12 months required
• State-specific caregiver screening and background checks as applicable
• Primary source verification of nursing license (WI or Compact License required)
• NURSYS verification required
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Drug screening within 12 months
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• COVID vaccination preferred
• OSHA Respirator clearance required prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and checklists
• Photo for badge required

Orientation and Training

• Completion of all required modules prior to or during orientation
• Additional online training for ICU/CCU or Cath Lab if applicable (not required for this position)
• Post-start orientation checklists must be completed and submitted

Notes for Candidates

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Must be willing to comply with strict fit testing and PPE policies
• This is a night shift position with every third weekend rotation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
