Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (PT) – Outpatient Orthopedics

Location: Placentia, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (preferred range: 13-26 weeks)
Shift:

• 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
• May include occasional weekend coverage
• May be required to float to other locations if census is low

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy services primarily for outpatient orthopedics patients
• Some pediatric patients included in the patient population

Requirements

• Active California PT license
• Minimum 1 year outpatient orthopedic experience preferred (6 months minimum required)
• New graduates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Work Guarantee

• Weekly Work Guarantee: 36 hours

Certifications & Compliance

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (current and clear copy required)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• State License verification and any applicable national tech certifications
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable

Health & Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific guidelines for past positives)
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Standard background checks including 7-year search and annual updates (SS Trace, County searches, Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)

References & Documentation

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
• 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles
• Skills checklist required annually
• Emergency contact form required prior to start
