Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Telemetry Registered Nurse role
Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
First-time travelers accepted
Skills required:
- Telemetry
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Weekend coverage: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks per contract)
Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
Scrubs not provided (Caribbean Blue color required)
Flu vaccine required for all employees

Required Certifications & Competencies

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
NIH Stroke Certification (based on unit)
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia: Basics A exam) with annual updates
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher within 3 years)
Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
Competency Exam (score 80% or higher within 3 years)
State Nursing License verification prior to start

Experience & References

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
Work history verification for the past 7 years, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information

Health & Safety Requirements

Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year, with annual updates if applicable
Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred
Documentation of immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar)
COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask-wearing for patient encounters
N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)

Background Checks & Documentation

Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
Education verification for highest degree required by position
I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function

Additional Information

Required to complete facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
Must comply with facility policies on floating and weekend coverage
