Job Overview
Join a fast-paced, team-oriented Cardiac Catheterization Lab performing a wide variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced cardiologists and a collaborative team focused on quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and professional growth.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Shift: 10-hour days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Call: Required
- Procedures: Approximately 15 cases per day, including EP (Electrophysiology), CRM (Cardiac Rhythm Management), and diagnostic/interventional caths
- Team: Work alongside six cardiologists (2 EP specialists, 4 interventional cardiologists), typically 3–4 present daily
- Equipment:
- Philips imaging equipment in all five cath labs
- Change Healthcare/Optum for hemo monitoring and documentation
- Epic EMR system
- Abbott EP recording and mapping systems
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong experience in Electrophysiology (EP)
- Proficient with:
- Heart catheterizations
- Pacemaker/ICD implants
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
- EP/Ablation procedures
- Watchman device implantation
- Impella, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
- Shockwave therapy
- Penumbra thrombectomy (Pulmonary Embolism and Intracranial)
- FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve)
- IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound)
- Ability to adapt quickly to new workflows and procedures
- Dependable, proactive, and a positive team player
Key Responsibilities
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures including EP and CRM cases
- Operate and maintain cath lab equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards
- Monitor and record patient vitals throughout procedures
- Support workflow efficiency in a multi-procedure environment
- Foster a positive, patient-centered experience through collaboration and communication

Required Credentials & Compliance
- Valid state license with exact name match on license and ID
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start (instant/rapid tests not accepted)
- Flu vaccination required for placements starting on or after 9/15 (medical/religious exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- COVID-19 vaccination is voluntary
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific approved masks only)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Proof of 2 clinical references within the last 12 months
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to orientation
- Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results (Alabama-specific requirement)
Additional Notes
- Candidate must live at least 90 miles from the facility
- Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing (passport-style, no nose rings)
