Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Kerrville, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a new building with a positive culture and welcoming team
• Seeking a kind, compassionate, caring, and team-oriented nurse
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Experience in Med/Surg and short stay required; Telemetry preferred
• First-time travelers considered depending on experience
• Patient ratio: 1:5 during the day, 1:6 at night
• Floating required to 2W, CDU, and ARU units
• Kerrville is located in Texas's wine country, about 1 hour from San Antonio

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• I9 verification
• E-Verify
• Background check (7-year search including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide Sex Offender, Education Verification)
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification
• State nursing license primary source verification
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment (annual)
• Medication and competency exams (must score 80% or above)
• Professional references (2 within last 3 years)
• Annual skills checklist

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required for placement)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (time sensitive, within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (time sensitive, plan required within 72 hours of contract signing)
