Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Job Description

• Work in a high-risk Level III NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
• Required certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA accepted
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - As applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - As applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - As applicable
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - As applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - As applicable
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - Required for RNs
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam - Required as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement - Required, update annually
• State License Verification (RN) - Required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (RN) - Required within 30 days of start

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• I9 or Attestation
• Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Facility-specific documents including Standards of Conduct, Dress Code Policy, Standards of Behavior, COVID Declination (if applicable), HIPAA and Fair Warning Quiz Modules, Orientation and Safety Training Modules, Annual TBQ (Tuberculosis Questionnaire)
• References: 2 references required within 3 years of start
• Employment Application/Resume required
• Skills Checklist - Required, update annually

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
• Fit Test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year; chest x-ray within 2 years if positive)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Mumps - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Rubella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B - Positive titer, series, or declination required
  • Varicella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season October-April)

Additional Notes

• Time-sensitive requirements (e.g., physical exam, immunizations, drug testing) must be completed within 72 hours of signing the contract
• Pass/Fail pharmacology exam will be given onsite at orientation with up to 3 attempts allowed
• Facility-specific orientation and compliance modules must be completed prior to or shortly after start date
