Job Details

• Start Dates: January 26 or February 9
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years recent experience preferred; strictly requires at least 2 years of specialty experience
• First-Timers: Not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience
• Nursing Model: Team nursing
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed; weekend block schedule may be considered but not guaranteed
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Must be included at time of submission; no changes accepted after offer
• Patient Focus: Cardiac or cardiovascular patients

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only; required for Stepdown/Tele units
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only; required for all candidates except certain allied health roles
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except those at the Children's Hospital
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) are not required for this unit

Licensure

• Tennessee RN license or multistate license required (NLC compliance mandatory)
• No pending licenses accepted

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)
• Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (must pass; no facial hair allowed)
• Immunizations required:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for onsite candidates during flu season (declinations not accepted)

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for one year or more
• Photo badge with strict guidelines (passport-style photo, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, no facial piercings)
• Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
