Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU)

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Position primarily in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), with some floating to Preoperative (Preop) areas
Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends or on-call
Shift start times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM
Ambulatory experience highly preferred

Required Qualifications

Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
Specialty Experience: Registered Nurse (PACU) – minimum 1 year experience recommended (ambulatory experience highly preferred)
Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable
Education verification with preference for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal required)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Completion of facility-specific documents including job description review, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start

Additional Requirements

Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days documented in employment application
Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement, not client)
Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, telemetry if applicable)

No weekend or on-call shifts
Floating between preop and PACU areas
