Registered Dietician - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Winter Haven, Florida

Job Overview

  • Start Date: December 1
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (able to work autonomously with minimal supervision)
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend (typically at least one per month per RD)
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: May be asked to assist other hospitals within the system remotely if workload is completed early
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Local candidates: Not accepted
  • Pending license: Not accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
  • Florida state license
  • Cerner EMR experience required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Driver’s License (must remain active throughout assignment)
  • Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation (if applicable)
  • Transcript/Diploma (especially for international education)
  • Florida AHCA Level II Fingerprint Results (required prior to start)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (with TB questionnaire if prior positive)
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: Standard 9 Panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or documented declination (mask required if declined)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated status required; exemptions accepted)
  • Respirator Safety Clearance (if respirator use is required)
  • References: 2 from past 2 years
  • Employment application and skills checklist

Training & Competency Requirements

  • BayCare Online Learning Center modules must be completed prior to start (4-8 hours)
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, EFM certifications as applicable (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • Stroke Education CEUs (8 total credits required for certain units)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • mRS (Modified Rankin Scale) Certification for specific units
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification for Behavioral Health and Psych ER (may be completed onsite after start)
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80%+)
  • Color Blind Testing (Relias exam)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (100% lethal arrhythmia score required for certain units)

Additional Notes

  • No guaranteed hours until after the first call off per pay period
  • No Return to Origin (RTO) restrictions in contract; may be discussed during interview
  • Candidates may be asked to float within scope to other hospitals in the system remotely
  • Professional, clear photo required for badge prior to start
  • Dress code and tobacco policy compliance required
