Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

• Licensure: Michigan RN License Pending OK
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Certification
• Strong Post-Surgical Competencies Required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days of start (lifetime search from age 18)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM monthly checks
  • HHS/OIG monthly checks
  • Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
  • State-specific searches including Michigan Central Registry Clearance (required for pediatric, RRT, L&D, Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographers)
• Fingerprinting:

  • Michigan LARA fingerprinting required within 45 days of start for certain positions and units
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test (Bronson requires Honeywell DC365N95HC for certain roles)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (must include pertussis)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 45 days of start
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer, no exemptions accepted)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or facility declination)
  • Drug testing: 10 panel including Marijuana/THC within 45 days of start
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved exemption (medical/spiritual) required for candidates starting after 11/1, with proof by 12/1 deadline
• References: One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
• Employment History: Complete application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps

Facility-Specific Policies

• Review and sign Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy prior to start
• Hepatitis B declination form if declining vaccine or titer
• Fit test appointment must be completed onsite before or on first day
• Vaccine exemption forms require approval and should be submitted early

Additional Notes

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and Competency Exam in specialty must be completed within 1 year prior to assignment start with a passing score of at least 80%
• Color Blind Testing required for laboratory roles only
