Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
- Nursys Verification - Within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require additional documentation.
- License/Certificate Verification - Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Pharmacology Exam - Must complete Pharmacology 1 or 2 exam prior to start; updated every 3 years; minimum 80% score; max 2 attempts.
- Specialty Exam - Completed prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years; minimum 80% or national benchmark; max 2 attempts.
- Color Vision Test - Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Core Competencies - HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly; minimum 80% score; max 2 attempts.
- NIH Certification - Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
- EKG Exam - Must complete with at least 80% passing score; max 2 attempts; updated as required.
- Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation - Completed pre-hire and uploaded.
- Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding - Completed onsite prior to assignment.
- Nova StatStrip Training - Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
- Cerner Test-Out - Must complete Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation.
- Badge Photo - Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background; no alterations or filters.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR - Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test - Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually.
- Hepatitis B - Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine - Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- TB Screening - Positive IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray within a year showing no infection, and TB questionnaire; updated annually.
- Health Statement - Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment; updated annually.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA - Within 1 year and 30 days of start; TB questionnaire updated annually.
- Varicella - Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap - Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
Professional & Background Requirements
- Driver's License/State ID - Must be current and valid; address must match licensing requirements.
- Ascension Profile (Resume) - Required for submission.
- Professional References - At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check - Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually or after breaks in service.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) - Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Skills Checklist - Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen - Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes testing for 12 specified substances; MRO review required for prescriptions or negative-dilute results.
- Education Verification - Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated if break in service > 90 days.
- Confirmation of Assignment - Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
- Employment Verification - Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after breaks in service.
