RN Labor and Delivery - Texas, Austin

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Location: Austin, Texas

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school or college

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Perinatal clinical experience in a high-volume delivery service
  • S.T.A.B.L.E Program certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification

Additional Requirements & Onboarding

  • Must complete specialty competency exams and core competencies with minimum passing scores prior to assignment and updated every 3 years
  • Required health screenings and immunizations including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
    • TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest x-ray if positive, annual questionnaire)
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite)
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Professional verifications required prior to start:
    • Resume/Profile
    • Two professional references
    • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment
    • Employment verification for past 7 years
    • Education verification relevant to clinical work
  • Must provide valid Driver’s License or State ID matching address requirements
  • Completion of onboarding modules and attestations specific to nursing contingent workers
  • Completion of Cerner test-out and training checklist prior to assignment
  • Annual updates required for health screenings, drug screening, background checks, and competency assessments

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required for this position.
  • All certifications must be current and from accepted organizations as noted.
  • This role requires working night shifts in a high-volume Labor and Delivery setting.
