Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with PCU specialty for a long-term assignment in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a progressive care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Candidates must complete and submit the following prior to or at onboarding:
- Professional Credentials:
- Resume/Profile
- Two professional references
- Signed assignment agreement (offer letter, confirmation, extension)
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment start
- Employment verification for the past seven years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
- Certifications & Training:
- BLS (AHA)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Health & Safety:
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Fit Test (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually)
- Immunizations and Health History:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or history verified by provider; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with required follow-up documentation
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Additional Onboarding:
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Ascension Employment Protection List Screening (EPLS) within 90 days of start
- Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
