Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period)
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Every other weekend rotation
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA only
- Respiratory Therapist License – Active and verified for Louisiana
- National Board Certification:
- CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) from NBRC for Certified Respiratory Therapist level
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) from NBRC for Respiratory Therapist level
Required Testing & Competencies
- FMOLHS Skills Checklist – Unit-specific, updated annually within one year prior to start
- FMOLHS Core Competencies – Must be current within one year prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher; includes HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives
- FMOLHS Competency Exam – Passing score of 80% or higher within one year prior to start
- FMOLHS Contract Annual Education – Required annually
- FMOLHS Code of Conduct – Signed and dated annually
Health & Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine – Optional (proof or exemption accepted)
- MMR – Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement
- Hepatitis B – Proof of 3 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with required signatures
- Influenza Vaccine – Optional; required during flu season with medical/religious exemptions accepted
- TB Test – Negative QuantiFERON blood test within one year or 2-step skin test; if positive, documentation of treatment or clearance required
- Annual TB Questionnaire – Required within 6 months of start; evaluation and treatment proof if positive
- Varicella – Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement
- Tdap – Proof of vaccination within past 10 years or declination with required signatures
- Fit Test – N95 mask fit test (3M 1860, 1860s, or 1870+) within one year prior to start, updated annually
- Health Statement – Signed and dated within one year stating ability to work without restrictions
- Eye Exam & Color Vision – Ishihara Color Test and Snellen Vision test within one year prior to start
Background & Screening
- Criminal Background Check – Completed within 30 days prior to start, including SSN address trace, county and national checks, education and employment verification (last 5 years), driving record
- Drug Screen – Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (includes marijuana/THC, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, cocaine, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, propoxyphene, methaqualone)

- FMOLHS Resume – Required for submission
- FMOLHS HRIS Form – Required for submission
- FMOLHS Badge Photo – Forward-facing, well-lit, JPEG format with neutral background
This position requires compliance with all listed certifications, health screenings, and competency requirements prior to onboarding.
