Job Description

• Float Pool RN position requiring willingness to float to 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital.
• Units include various Med/Surg Telemetry areas, Emergency Department, Acute Mental Health Unit, and ICU (non-vented, transfer-ready patients).
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours.
• Rotation includes Days, Evenings, and Nights with a rotating schedule (Days/Evenings rotate with 1 to 3 night shifts per contract).
• Clinician to patient ratio: up to 5:1 on Days and Evenings, up to 6:1 on Nights.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Free on-site parking available.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location.
• Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required.

Required Skills

• Proficient in telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips.
• Experience with TR Band.
• Ability to perform cardiac drips and read telemetry strips accurately.

Patient Population

• Care for Emergency Department border patients.
• Medication nurse duties in the acute mental health unit.
• Care for non-ventilated ICU patients who are transfer ready.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• At least 2 years of total travel nursing experience.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break longer than 6 months.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break longer than 6 months.
• Social Security Number trace as part of background check.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
• Education verification of highest level achieved.
• Submission of 2 professional references within 4 years, including at least 1 supervisor or higher.
• Submission of resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Submission of candidate submission coversheet and skills checklist.

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to float across multiple units.
• Rotation includes day, evening, and night shifts.
• Prior travel nursing experience is required.
