Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Rotation schedule: Every other week (EOW) and every other half (EOH), with 4 weeks of nights followed by 4 weeks of days, or vice versa.
  • Start dates available on 4/6 or 4/20.
  • Position involves working in an emergency department setting with boarder responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Credentials and Compliance

  • Recent color photo (taken within past 6 months, plain background, no glasses).
  • Primary source verification of professional nursing license (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required).
  • N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date (no onsite fit testing; must use specific form).
  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season, no exemptions)
    • Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (strongly preferred)
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
  • Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date.
  • Criminal background checks including:
    • State and national criminal history
    • Massachusetts CORI check
    • Social Security Number trace
    • National sex offender registry check
    • Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, Medicaid exclusion lists
  • Work history covering past 7 years with city and state details.
  • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level reference.
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required.
  • Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for extensions.
  • Education verification of highest degree achieved.

Additional Notes

  • TB positive individuals must provide a negative chest x-ray dated after the positive test.
  • All vaccine and health documentation must be current and uploaded as required.
  • No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing or influenza vaccine.
  • Background check results are subject to final vetting by security/compliance teams.

This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical RNs comfortable with rotating shifts in a fast-paced emergency department environment and who meet comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
