Radiology Technologist Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Radiology Technologist produces optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care. The role involves performing diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, operating imaging equipment, verifying and executing physician orders, and ensuring patient safety throughout exams. The technologist will work with patients across all age groups, including neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts
- Call requirements to be discussed
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
- Floating to other areas within competency may be required
Facility Environment
- Extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a large regional area
- Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation
- Large inpatient and emergency department volumes comparable to a Level 1 trauma center
- Requires ability to work in high-volume, high-acuity settings
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Nevada
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures according to established protocols
- Provide individualized patient care and ensure patient safety during procedures
- Operate imaging equipment and related machinery competently
- Verify and execute physician orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams
- Assist other modalities within the department as needed
- Maintain documentation including billing, supplies, medical charting, and informed consent
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Demonstrate competency in OR Suite, Trauma Suite, and portable radiography within 90 days of hire, with ongoing annual evaluations
