Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Work in a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center Emergency Department.
  • Emergency Department treats over 60,000 patients annually.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients.
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
  • Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as required.
  • Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week.
  • Patient-facing, clinical role.
  • Facility uses Meditech EMR.
  • Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
  • Parking available.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certification in ACLS or BLS issued by the American Heart Association, or PALS issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

Additional Information

  • Timesheet approver roles assigned (primary and backup).
  • Not a remote position.
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
