Overview

Travel assignment in Alexandria, Louisiana
Unit: Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg
36-bed unit on 7A in the Main Tower
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN / LVN license in Louisiana
Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

Prioritization skills
Time management skills

Unit Details

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1
Staffed for 36 patients
Typical equipment includes IV pumps, Wound Vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, and Epidurals

Common Procedures

Wound Vac changes
Wound care
IV insertions
Insertion of indwelling Foley catheters

Scheduling

Every other weekend
On call when census is low
