Location: San Antonio, Texas Employment Type: Travel, Full Time Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Pediatrics CVICU experience (2 years)
Pediatrics CVICU experience within the last year
Experience working with Pediatric Cardiac patients (chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, vasoactive infusions)
Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association
Current PALS certification issued by American Heart Association

Practices independently in the same or similar clinical setting, with awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation
Provides routine and complex care, planning for long-range goals
Manages clinical contingencies and delegates to other care providers as needed
Applies the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitors effectiveness and side effects, and documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers

Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member
Onboarding requires completing the entry competency validation and a Critical Care department-specific competency validation
Annual competency verification must be completed
