Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings (1:00 PM – 1:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Weekend Hours: As required
Call Requirements: None


Job Summary

Provide direct patient care in a busy urban Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups. Coordinate care with ancillary departments and maintain patient rights and confidentiality. Work within the scope of nursing practice and applicable state regulations.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with trauma and pediatric patients
  • High acuity experience in a high-volume setting (200+ patients/day)

Unit Information

  • Emergency Department with 68 beds
  • Typical patient ratio: 4:1 (may vary during surge)
  • EMR system: EPIC
  • Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk most of the shift
  • Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
  • Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling

Additional Details

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
  • No block scheduling available
  • Time off requests must be made on the back end of the assignment; not approved during the first week
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
  • Dress code: Black scrubs; unprofessional attire such as jeans is not allowed
