Job Opportunity: CST/ORT First Assist (Travel)

Position Details

Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Department: Operating Room (OR)
Role: First Assistant Cardiothoracic
Specialty: Open Hearts and Main OR
Number of Openings: 1
Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 40
Weekend Hours: On call
Call Requirements:
- Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM (16-hour shifts)
- Saturday to Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-48 hours)
Float Requirements: Float to main OR when no cardiothoracic cases are scheduled

Required Qualifications

Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
OR First Assist Certification
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
Experience with robotic and laparoscopic lung procedures
Experience with CABG on and off pump
Surgical First Assistant experience

Patient Population

Adult and geriatric patients
All open heart cases except pediatric open hearts

Additional Information

Dress Code: Blue scrubs provided
Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a technologically advanced OR
Orientation is held weekly on Mondays

This position is ideal for experienced CST/ORT professionals with strong cardiothoracic first assist skills seeking a travel assignment in a tertiary care regional referral hospital setting.
