Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Geriatric Psychiatric (Behavioral Health)
  • Number of Beds: 120
  • Number of Staff: 50
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8-9 (days and nights; estimated, not guaranteed)
  • Equipment Used: Welch Allyn Vital Signs Machines
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
  • Work Environment: Family-oriented, collaborative team atmosphere

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on a behavioral health inpatient unit focused on geriatric patients
  • Perform behavioral health admissions and discharges
  • May float to other adult inpatient behavioral health units
  • Lead RN resources available with classes provided
  • Flexibility and willingness to manage varied patient acuity required
  • Team-player attitude and compassion essential
  • Opportunity to gain experience caring for patients with diverse mental health issues

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or Calm Every Storm certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong inpatient behavioral health experience
