Position Details

Unit Profile - CMU (Critical Medical Unit)

• Number of Beds: 39
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Staffing: No unit secretaries or CNAs; direct patient care only
• Equipment Used: Ventilators, IV med pumps, SCD machines, Cooling blankets, Glucometers
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements:

  • Days: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Nights: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Floats to all Intermediate Care (IMC) and Medical Telemetry (MT) units
• Patient Experience Requirement: More than 1 year in IMC/PCU level unit

Required Skills and Certifications

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (required)
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (RN)
• Requested Skill Set:

  • Experience with ventilators, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP
  • IV non-titratable medications such as Dopamine, Dobutamine, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Heparin
• Advanced Skills: Required (specific advanced skills not detailed)
