Travel RN Opportunity - Medical Telemetry / IMC

Location: Portland, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical Telemetry, Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Shift: Day and Night (Night shift hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours every other weekend)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes

  • IMC RNs may float to other IMC units or med/surg units as needed
  • Med/surg RNs may float to similar med/surg units
• Patient Ratios:

  • Med/Surg Day Shift: 1:4-5
  • Med/Surg Night Shift: 1:5-6
  • IMC Day and Night: 1:3
• Number of Beds on Unit: 43
• EMR System: Epic

Required Experience & Skills

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Medical Telemetry / IMC)
• Must Have Skills:

  • Ventilator experience (for IMC RNs)
  • Experience with tracheostomy care
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Preferred Skills: Not specified
• Type of Patients:

  • Respiratory conditions
  • Medical telemetry patients
  • Some surgical cases
  • Sepsis, DKA, altered mental status
  • Failure to thrive, respiratory failure
  • Acute on chronic medical conditions

Education & Certifications

• Required Certifications: BLS
• Onboarding: Mandatory facility-specific education modules
