Radiation Therapist Travel Opportunity

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Administer external beam radiation therapy accurately according to physician prescriptions.
• Perform start-up procedures and morning QA for linear accelerator and simulator.
• Conduct conventional and CT simulations, fabricate immobilization devices and custom blocking.
• Complete photon and electron block fabrication and mount compensators and 3D compensators as directed.
• Perform Field QA for IMRT and compensator fields; document patient setup and communicate deviations.
• Complete daily treatments, weekly portal imaging or IGRT, and weekly chart checks.
• Assist physicians with On Treatment Visits (OTVs).
• Maintain patient appointments within 5 minutes of scheduled time and schedule appointments accurately.
• Interact with dosimetry team, retrieve DRRs, calculations, and treatment plans; attach treatment plans to electronic charts.
• Order and maintain inventory and supplies; participate in chart rounds and tumor boards.
• Practice radiation safety and report any machine malfunctions.
• Promote patient safety standards and demonstrate professional etiquette.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, Day shift
• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week guaranteed
• No cancellations
• Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM with a half-day Friday

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ARRT (T) certification
• Current Arizona State CTT Radiation Therapist certification

Equipment & Software Experience

• Varian 21iX Linear Accelerator
• Pinnacle treatment planning system
• Mosaiq and Allscripts EMR systems
• Mosaiq record and verify system

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Heavy physical demands: occasional lifting up to 100 lbs, frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
• Constant standing, extensive close and computer work
• Exposure to chemicals, infectious fluids, and potentially upset/disturbed individuals
• OSHA Exposure Category 1 (exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues)
