Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to work in a cardiac catheterization lab with 6 suites/labs, handling an average of 10 to 15 cases per day. The role involves scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub, monitor hemodynamics, and circulate during cardiac catheterization procedures
• Work with EPIC, PACS, and McKesson cardiology systems
• Participate in call rotation with cardiologists on call 24/7, 365 days a year
• Work 9-hour shifts with rotating weekends, holidays, and weekly on-call shifts (8-9 shifts per month)
• Respond to call within 30 minutes of page
• Orientation typically lasts 3 to 5 days
• Scrubs provided by the hospital
• No floating required

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification
• Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated

Experience Requirements

• Previous cath lab experience required
• Pediatric cath lab experience preferred but not required
• Experience with McKesson cardiology PACS preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Drug-free workplace; negative drug screen required
• Call off policy allows 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
• Mandatory call list used if staff cannot fulfill call shifts
• Primary charge nurse available from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM but does not routinely complete cases

Schedule

• 4 x 10-hour shifts per week
• Call on weekends and nights on a rotational basis
