Matagorda County Hospital District was established by an act of the Texas Legislature to serve the health care needs of Matagorda County.

This 117,000 SF, 60-bed hospital provided much needed medical services to the Bay City area. The facility features large private patient rooms, 30 private medical surgical rooms, eight private and four semi-private gero-psych patient rooms, six critical care rooms, two operating rooms, and one orthopedic operating room. With the addition, we increased the Emergency Room’s capacity by 13 beds, added an additional seven anesthetic care stations, and created a 12-position ambulatory care unit. The facility also features an endoscopy suite, a special procedure room, a pain management room and a dedicated Women’s center that includes four LDRP rooms, six post-partum rooms, and a C-section suite.
