Histotechnician - Nebraska, Omaha

Job Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Overnight (12:00 am - 8:30 am), Monday to Friday
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible, ideally around late April or early May

Job Description

Perform high-volume embedding and microtomy (e.g., 100+ blocks per night)
Handle a wide variety of specimen and tissue types, from tiny biopsies to large resections
Use manual rotary Leica microtomes
Some day shift hours initially for orientation
Experience with Cerner LIS and/or Roche Ventana systems (including Vantage/Navify tracking) is a plus

Required Qualifications

Histology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

This position is based in an academic medical center environment
Must be able to manage a high workload efficiently
