Job Opportunity: RN - ICU/Med-Surg

Location: Thief River Falls, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit and Work Environment

• Work in ICU, Med-Surg, and after-hours PACU
• 25-bed critical access hospital caring for ICU, OB, and Med-Surg patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:

  • ICU: 1:1 or 2:1
  • Med-Surg: 1:3-5

Equipment and Technology

• EPIC charting
• Omnicell medication system
• Philips monitors and telemetry
• Philips defibrillator
• Plum IV pumps with smart library
• BiPAP and ventilators

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience
• ICU trained with telemetry monitoring for acute care patients
• Experience with cardioversions, PACU, and continuous IV medication management

Licensure and Certifications

• Minnesota State RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• TNCC preferred

Schedule and Shifts

• Generally 12-hour day or night shifts, occasional 8-hour shifts
• Weekend obligation: 2 weekends per 6-week schedule, with interest in nurses willing to work extra weekends
• No call required
• Nurse will not work alone; may be the only ICU skilled nurse in-house with two Emergency Department nurses present

Floating and Additional Skills

• Floating to Med-Surg unit
• Skills in Obstetrics (labor & delivery, antepartum, postpartum) or Emergency Department are a plus and may be utilized

Orientation and Training

• 1 day Med-Surg orientation
• 1 day ICU orientation
• Day/night rotating shifts
• 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Every other holiday

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs
• Pale palette shirts under scrubs

Additional Notes:

• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Must disclose if previously worked for the facility with at least a 6-month gap before re-submission
