Travel Nurse Opportunity: Medsurg / Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Zachary, Louisiana
Unit: Combined Med/Surg and Telemetry

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Unit Setup:

  • 32 Telemetry beds (ratio 1:5)
  • 32 Med-Surg beds (ratio 1:5-6)
  • All private rooms
  • Centralized monitoring unit
• Patient Population:

  • Telemetry: CHF, COPD exacerbations, NSTEMI, Afib, Sepsis (no cardio-thoracic surgeries)
  • Med-Surg: Orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees), surgical patients, UTIs, PEG tubes, etc.
• Floating: May float to ICU as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years combined Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
• At least 1 year charge nurse experience
• ACLS certification required; PALS preferred
• Proficient with Epic EMR (experience with Epic charting is mandatory)
• Must be able to float between Telemetry and Med-Surg units
• Must work at least 2 of the 3 upcoming holidays (preference given to candidates with no holiday time off)
• Able to cover shifts during hospital transition to a new tower
• Can cancel up to 2 shifts during the contract duration

Additional Notes

• Average daily census typically 17-19 patients
• 75-mile radius rule applies
• Multiple contracts available for day and night shifts, but this position is specifically for night shift coverage

This role is ideal for experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry nurses with charge experience who are comfortable working night shifts and using Epic EMR in a dynamic hospital setting.
