Job Opportunity: Med/Surg RN with Telemetry

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Unit: Medical Surgical with Telemetry (7 West, 7 East, 5 East)
Patient Population: Primarily adults with occasional pediatrics (1-5 per year)
Number of Beds: 60
Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day shift: 0630-1900; Night shift: 1830-0700)
Schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
Contract Length: 13 weeks

• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Post-surgical care, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, cancer
• Float Opportunities: Yes, float to 6 East, acute rehab unit, geriatric psych unit
• EMR System: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Scrub Color: Navy

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Orientation Exam: Pass/fail open book exam during orientation; must score 90% or higher to continue
• Candidate Profile: Positive attitude, team player, values others, compassionate care for patients and team
• Cultural Competency: Experience serving diverse populations including African American and Korean-speaking patients
• Policies:

  • Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles and not currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
  • Driver’s license required to verify distance
  • Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply results in contract termination
