Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Expected to work some holidays

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS
• Driver’s license required at time of submittal
• 1 year of experience
• Behavioral health experience

Preferred Experience

• Existing traveler with 1–2 completed assignments
• Triage experience

Unit Details

• Emergency department with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Common patient types include stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health
• Rare pediatric patients are treated and transferred
• Charge nurse may be used for travelers, especially at night
• Respiratory therapy is paged as needed; nurses may perform breathing treatments and some ABGs
• RNs draw labs
• X-ray and CT are available in the department
• Security is in-house 24/7

Floating

• No routine floating
• If floated within the region, additional pay applies

Additional Notes

• Parking is at the traveler’s expense
• Royal blue scrubs required
• One 12-hour orientation shift with an experienced emergency department RN
