Overview
- Travel contract for an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse in Los Angeles, California.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Shift: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Floating: L&D floats to antepartum and postpartum.
- Orientation: 3 shifts on unit.
- Unit: L&D/PP - Perinatal.
- Beds: 12 L&D beds, 10 triage beds, 12 antepartum beds.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in California.
- BLS.
- ACLS.
- NRP.
- AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring.
- 2 full years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- Experience with high-risk deliveries.
- Experience with circulating for C-sections.
Preferred
- Scrubbing for C-sections.
- Travel experience.
- Familiarity with pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips.
Additional Details
- Fetal monitoring system: Fetal Link.
- EMR: Cerner.
- Charge nurse may take a patient assignment if needed.
- OB techs are scheduled on the unit and assist with deliveries and C-sections.
- No call requirement.
- One major and two minor holidays.
- Scrub color is provided; must be sterile.
- No vents.
- OB attending coverage 24/7 and neonatologist coverage 24/7.
- No IV team.
- RT coverage 24/7 from NICU.
- Pharmacy coverage 24/7.
- Common patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, including blood pressure issues, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, and substance abuse.
