Registered Nurse — Medical-Surgical Acute Care

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour day shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• Negative drug screen required for all panels

Preferred Experience

• 1+ year of hospital experience preferred

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• No call required
• Floating to other units as needed
• 12-hour unit orientation with a preceptor

Unit Details

• 18-bed medical-surgical acute care unit
• Typical patient ratios: 4–5:1 on days, 5–6:1 on nights
• Heparin drips are managed on the unit
• Patients may require up to 6L nasal cannula or stable BiPAP/CPAP at night or as needed
• Telemetry patients are monitored remotely
• Any color scrubs allowed; staff provide their own
