Night Nurse

Location: Haverhill, Massachusetts
Facility: Nursing facility in Haverhill

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

Provides nursing care services for residents and may assume Charge Nurse responsibilities when necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Massachusetts
• Long Term Care experience with 3 years of experience
• Long Term Care experience within the last year
• BLS
• CPR/AED
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Responsibilities

• Observe and report resident symptoms and conditions
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Give treatments as ordered
• Count narcotics and maintain records
• Maintain records of resident condition, medications, treatments, and progress
• Transcribe physician written and telephone orders
• Place drug orders
• Assist with nursing history, assessment, MDS, and care plans
• Assist in orientation and supervision of nursing staff
• Perform direct resident care as necessary
• Participate in ongoing in-service education
• Prepare and coordinate CNA assignments
• Directly supervise CNAs
• Call MDs and assist with rounds and chart preparation
• Book tests, labs, x-rays, and medical appointments
• Check meal trays for accuracy
• Perform treatments and assessments
• Perform resident admissions and discharges
• Notify MD/NP of changes in resident status
• Notify family members/HCP of changes in treatment status
• Update care plans
• Respond to nurse managers
