Nursing Contract Opportunity - Estes Park, Colorado
Position Summary
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process (A.P.I.E.) for patients of all ages and diagnoses.
- Work in various practice areas including Operating Room (OR), GI Lab, Pre-Op, and PACU.
- Perform treatments, administer medications, and prepare, interpret, and evaluate test data.
- Act in the Charge Nurse role when needed.
- Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and counseling.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards.
- Assist anesthesia with intubation and extubation as needed.
- Take responsibility for all activities in the OR as the Patient Advocate.
- Ensure proper Time Out is performed prior to incision.
- Perform accurate documentation and intra-op counts.
- Handle specimens according to policies and procedures.
- Promote teamwork, open communication, and customer service.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid Colorado RN license or multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- 2 years of OR nursing experience preferred (higher end of 1-2 years stated).
- American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification.
- ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Immunization and health requirements including:
- Immunity to Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Varicella-Zoster, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus.
- TB test (QuantiFERON) within the last year.
- Influenza vaccination required during flu season.
- COVID-19 vaccination confirmation.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within the last 30 days.
- Background checks including criminal, OIG, and CAPS through the State of Colorado.
- Proof of OSHA training and documented references.
- Skills and competency assessment.
Contract Details
- Contract length: 6 weeks (interpreted from 45 days).
