Job Description

Provide nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on a medical/surgical progressive care unit (step-down).
Patient populations may include pediatrics, pre/post PCI care, pacemaker patients, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and various surgical cases.
Care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and those requiring short-term ventilatory support (noninvasive and invasive).
Perform skilled assessment and interventions for potential patient deterioration.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and outcomes.
Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff.
Provide direct care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
Provide guidance to RN, LPN, CNA, housekeeping, and dietary staff.
May support the general medical-surgical nursing unit as needed.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Montana
Minimum 3 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
