ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Contract Position in Hawaii
Location
- Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
- May float to other critical care and step-down units as needed.
- Unit has 11 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1.
- Use of Meditech electronic health record system.
- Professional dress code: scrubs.
- Orientation: 1 week (up to 40 hours).
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment.
Schedule
- Flexible shifts: Day or Night, determined by staffing needs.
- Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (36 hours) after orientation.
- 2 twelve-hour call shifts per 4-week roster period.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 3 years of Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
