Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care with a focus on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff and applies evidence-based practice within a Practice Governance framework. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, focusing on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN also mentors and precepts staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to policy or patient condition.
  • Make sound independent clinical decisions.
  • Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
  • Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
  • Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
  • Serve as a mentor and preceptor to staff.
  • Promote teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience.

Education Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
