Job Summary

• Accountable for the care of a group of patients in an ICU setting.
• Focus on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
• Assist in maintaining a financially stable unit.
• Promote professional development emphasizing evidence-based practice and education within a Practice Governance framework.
• Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff members.
• Apply the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
• Deliver quality care and mentor/precept staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Assessment: Perform assessments and reassessments per policy or as patient condition warrants; make sound independent decisions.
• Development & Implementation: Initiate, prioritize, and implement care plans; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams; use resources appropriately.
• Evaluation: Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Education: Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient/family needs during stay and at discharge.
• Leadership: Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as mentor/preceptor; promote teamwork; identify and communicate improvement opportunities; participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts; comply with regulatory standards; engage in Practice Governance.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience
