Registered Nurse - Intensive/Critical Care (ICU)

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in Intensive/Critical Care, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, focusing on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring and precepting, and participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, and implement plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to staff, mentor and precept team members, and promote teamwork.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in quality, safety, and service process improvements.
• Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance activities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
