Location: Johnson City, New York
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide timely, accurate, and reliable respiratory therapy services to inpatients, outpatients, staff, and affiliated community groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy procedures including Aerosol Therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy, Incentive Spirometry, M.D.I. therapy, Suctioning, and Extubation.
- Manage Oxygen Therapy, BiPAP-CPAP therapy, High Flow Cannula/Humidifier therapy, and related alarms.
- Perform Cough Assist/Vest therapy and Pulmonary Function Screen diagnostics.
- Conduct Fit Testing, Pulse Oximetry, Adult and Pediatric EKGs.
- Provide Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal BLS life support.
- Manage Mechanical Ventilation and ventilator alarms.
- Perform Arterial Puncture and Blood Gas analysis, including quality control.
- Use patient healthcare information systems and medication administration/dispensing programs.
- Verify physician orders for pulmonary and cardiology procedures and document results.
- Participate in departmental in-service programs and maintain records per policy.
- Assist with external patient transports as required.
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from NBRC.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Certifications
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- ACLS certification.
