Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in California
- 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience in a Critical Care setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Key Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
- Perform intra-hospital transports with mechanical ventilators and airway protection, including safe operation of devices in the MRI scanner
- Deliver nitric oxide, nitrogen, heliox, and other specialty gases
- Initiate and maintain pulmonary vasodilators
- Evaluate medical orders, participate in clinical rounds, respond to emergency consults, and serve on the code/rapid response team
- Assist with orientation and training of Level I and Level II therapists and students
- Educate patients, families, and other members of the health care team
