Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in California
1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
Experience working with Adult patients
Experience in a Critical Care setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
Perform intra-hospital transports with mechanical ventilators and airway protection, including safe operation of devices in the MRI scanner
Deliver nitric oxide, nitrogen, heliox, and other specialty gases
Initiate and maintain pulmonary vasodilators
Evaluate medical orders, participate in clinical rounds, respond to emergency consults, and serve on the code/rapid response team
Assist with orientation and training of Level I and Level II therapists and students
Educate patients, families, and other members of the health care team
