Travel Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Albany, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (open to 8 or 17 weeks)
Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (not guaranteed during orientation)
Start Date: March 2, 2026 (no return to office before May 3, 2026)

Job Description

• Float pool RN covering Medical-Surgical, acute care, cardiology, and Emergency Center patient holds
• Mid-shift floats are rare and only for emergent needs
• Potential to float to North Campus (1.8 miles away)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
• On-call/call back is rare
• 30-minute break per shift
• Patient ratios: 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Nurse aides available with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10

Required Qualifications

• License: Georgia or compact RN license
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA NIHSS required; AHA ACLS highly preferred
• Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years solid experience on a Medical-Surgical unit
  • Recent experience with PIV insertions, Sickle Cell management, and trach care/management
  • Travel experience preferred (not explicitly required)

Additional Information

• EMR system: Meditech Expanse experience preferred but not required (training provided)
• Uniform: Caribbean blue or white scrub required
• Radius rule: 75 miles from Albany, GA
