Pediatric Operating Room RN
Overview
- Travel assignment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Registered Nurse role in Pediatric Operating Room
- Circulating RN position
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
Schedule
- 4x10-hour shifts
- Shift times: 6:50 AM–5:20 PM or 8:50 AM–7:20 PM, depending on department needs
- 2 weeks of Monday–Friday orientation from 6:50 AM–3:20 PM
- Rotating weekends every other weekend as needed
- On-call requirement: at least 1 weekday per week and every 4th weekend
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- May be asked to provide in-house on-call coverage and stay overnight if requested
- Holidays as needed, including in-house coverage or 24-hour beeper call
Float Scope
- May float to Surgicenter if needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Pediatrics OR - Operating Room (3 years of experience)
- Pediatrics OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
Unit / Clinical Setting
- 14 ORs and 3 Special Procedure rooms
- Special Procedure rooms include GI, oncology, and dental
- Unit cases include ENT, ortho, urology, general surgery, craniofacial/plastics, neuro, and eyes
- Cardiac cases are performed, but the traveler would not be expected to do cardiac
Additional Notes
- Precepting may be required during the assignment
- EPIC is used for charting
- Strong candidates are described as hard-working, resilient, adaptable, and social
