Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Behavioral Health (Nights)
Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Float position: Must be willing to float to all units including adolescents and adults.
- Start date is fixed and mandatory (May 11).
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions.
- Utilize the nursing process to meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care.
- Provide clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic care delivery.
- The program offers 24-hour care focused on co-occurring disorders, including medically assisted drug and alcohol withdrawal, stabilization, and education to support recovery.
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN / LVN license in Vermont.
- Minimum 5 years of LPN experience.
- At least 1 year of Long Term Care experience within the last year.
- Experience in an inpatient setting.
- Behavioral Health experience.
- Experience in supervisory roles.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Additional Information
- Return to Office (RTO) blackout dates apply; RTO cannot exceed 7 days.
- CPI training is offered onsite; confirmation required at submission.
- Candidates must include their address or driver's license in the submission packet (residing within 35 miles may affect pay rate).
- The position is located in a rural area with limited housing and public transportation options; candidates should plan accordingly.
- Overtime is paid at the same rate as regular hours; holiday and callback shifts are paid at 1.25x with a minimum of 2 hours for callbacks.
- Orientation includes 8 hours of nonbillable time.
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.

- Must be willing and able to float across multiple units including adolescent and adult populations.
- Psychiatric inpatient experience must be recent and clearly documented.
- Scheduling requests should be included in the submission packet.
- Candidates should be aware of the rural location and limited local amenities and transportation.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced LPNs with recent inpatient psychiatric experience who are flexible and able to work across multiple behavioral health units.
